Credit and Ideology: The Policy of Payroll Deducted Credit during the Workers' Party Years

Despite its recent growth, the academic literature on credit displays theoretical controversies and empirical differences regarding predominant effects of consumer policies. At same time, such policies have been given central importance in historical accounts a government that adopted them large scale Brazil: Lula government. Drawing upon debates descriptive content, this article aims to contribute existing by examining trajectory Brazilian from perspective main proponents. In addition, analysis relevant documents, study is based interviews with three groups responsible for defending payroll deducted policy, most important policy terms adherence stability country: 01. bureaucrats Ministry Finance; 02. unionists lawmakers linked labor unions; 03. financial entrepreneurs, especially those organized Febraban.
